The Mount Gambier Community RSL committee met tonight to discuss the future of the club, with the outcome being a positive one.
Board member Dale Fox described the future of the club as being "encouragingly positive" with the venue and accompanied services continuing for the community based on some "very important changes" that have been put into place.
Mr Fox, speaking on behalf of the President, committee, volunteers and staff, says that while things are looking good, the road ahead will still have its challenges. "Although our financial situation still requires a more defined answer from other resources over the next few days, it appears that the RSL is able to adjust its working capital to a positive one."
In a statement received by Limestone Coast Community News this evening, Mr Fox has thanked the overwhelming level of support from the community over the past few days.
"This would not have been at all possible if it wasn’t for the generosity of the local community who were able to assist us in a time of need. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who were able to provide us with the support that was needed."
